About Eric Halter
Eric Halter has spent his professional career bringing balance and unity to organizations. He brings 25 years of experience in facilitating communication, managing projects, organizing business processes, and planning and developing technology services. He has worked in consulting firms, universities, nonprofit organizations, and the financial services industry. He knows first-hand the complex motivations that affect managers and staff in a variety of business and professional circumstances.
Trained as a geologist with a Masters from SUNY Buffalo, Eric first managed data processing teams and delivered smooth logistical support and team management both to on-shore research institutes and under the challenging circumstances of deep sea research operating out of ports in Europe, South America, and Asia.
As an environmental consultant, Eric was a project manager on sensitive investigations for private and public clients, marketed firm services, and managed multi-state, time-critical projects.
Eric has worked in a variety of roles in technology services. He was a project manager at Hawaii's first web development firm in the early 1990's. Eric directed IT planning and operations for a multi-office New England law firm and for an international consulting firm with locations in Hawaii, Australia, Thailand, and Hong Kong. This work gave him experience knitting together technology services across diverse cultures and geography.
Most recently, Eric managed technology teams at a major Boston-based financial services firm, where he was quickly recognized for bringing smooth operation to teams in challenging organizations and technology situations. His work required bridging communication gaps between internal organizations, integrating individuals with strong work skills but difficult personalities, and facilitating the reorganization of a critical operations unit.
Eric also has successful experience in training, where his combination of warm personality and clear explanations win consistently positive feedback. He has taught classes in technology and team management to groups including professional programmers, administrative managers, graduate students and the general public.
Originally from New York state, Eric spent 8 years in Hawaii and has been a resident of New Hampshire for the last 10 years.
